One life to live:

“I’ve just got this one life on earth to live, you know. That’s why it's precious to me.” That’s what atheists say as though they’re making some kind of profound announcement.

Well, I guess this comes as a surprise to atheists but, this is the only life on earth that any and all of us are going to get. “We are destined to die once, and then judgement.” That’s why I and other Christians take this life very seriously as well. I would suggest that we take it even more seriously because we believe that what we do with this life on earth determines how we'll spend eternity in the next dimension.

I thought you believed in predistination?

Based on past conversations with you, I really don't believe that we'd get anywhere by attempting to go down this road.

If God only allows the elect to be saved, and God predestined the elect, then God predestined everyone else who is not elect to be eternally condemned.

I didn’t think you could do it Flute but you are very close to getting it.

. God knew before the creation of the universe, who would and who would not accept His offer of salvation.

. Romans 8:29-30 - “For those God foreknew He also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of His Son, And those He predestined He also called; those He called, He also justified; those He justified He also glorified.”

My paraphrase would be, For those who God knew would accept His offer of salvation, and He knew this from before the founding of the universe, He prepared a path whereby they would find Jesus. And those for whom He’d prepared the path, He called and when they responded to the call, He justified them and declared them righteous.

Don’t make this mistake Flute. Knowing that I would eventually respond to His call is not the same as “making” me respond to His call. I could have rejected His call and then we’d be talking about a different path that God had laid out for me. However, both the acceptance or the rejection are totally and completely mine to own. God called me because He knew that I would accept.

God hides Himself from those He knows will reject His offer of salvation. However, at any given stage of life, none of know who is who, so we dare not judge.

Now, as I’ve said in other posts, for those who God knows will reject His offer of salvation, He solidifies that rejection and runs them far down the road of eternal damnation. That’s why I think that those who actually believe they are good people, well, those people should be alarmed by their self-assessment. They should be alarmed that God has not (or at least not yet) opened their eyes to their need for forgiveness and change.

On the other hand, even if that’s where you’re at today, there is no way of knowing if, according to God’s plan, your eyes will be opened to the truth at some point in the future. That’s why we as Christians never give up. We do not know what’s in store for anyone. If you’d known me when I was twenty-five years old, you would have said, “There is no way that guy will every support or agree with Christianity.” I would have said that. Yet five years later . . .

Thanks for the coherent explanation Mak. ROFL.

So if God knows that I am f*cked, why doesn't he tell me so that I can save the Christian missionary's time. Oh ... I get it. Even if I am predestined to go to hell, it's all part of God's plan to have his holy door knockers waste their time on me. It must still help strengthen their faith by wasting time on the damned ..... Makes perfect sense if you live in a bubble.

I don't think it's a waste of time. It's good practise. It's like applying for a job you know you'd never get to prove to yourself that you can be rejected and nothing awful happens.

Microsoft offers Windows Live Essentials 2011, the latest

Let's take a look at some of the devices which are used for video conferencing.
