Leviticus 25:35 - If one of your countrymen becomes poor and is unable to support himself among you, help him as you would an alien or a temporary resident, so he can continue to live among you.
Leviticus and Numbers are interesting books -- you're snoozing along, reading about drink offerings, grain offerings, who begat who, what's clean/unclean, but occasionally you'll get little gems like this. I'm glad I've read these books, at least once anyway. :-)
