I’ve Got the Answer

In the series I did on Intelligent Design I think it was Gorth who gave me some quotes from a guy who had all the answers. Scientists, he said, know how to figure it all out.

"What scientists actually postulate, and they postulate this with respect to every observable phenomenon in the universe, is that well defined and testable mechanisms are responsible."
Calilasseia

Can you imagine what it must be like for an atheist to think s/he has a real explanation for the beginning of life or the beginning of the universe but the explanation goes against everything we observe and know? (Snerk)

Sucks to be an atheist

Are you saying observable phenomenon don't have testable mechanisms responsible?
What is it you disagree with?

I'm saying that neither the origins of the universe nor the origin of life itself were observable. All we can do is look back and infer that what causes those effects today, may have caused those effects then.

However, as was seen with specified, formulated, coded information, even if it involves ONLY an Intelligent Agent today, atheists refuse to consider that it may have involved an Intelligent Agent then.

As is seen with beginnings and coming in to existence, if we observe that NOTHING comes into existence without an external cause today, atheists refuse to consider that it may have been the same then.

To atheists, science is great unless it points away from natural causes. Then it becomes very clear indeed that atheists don't want answers, they want only a certain TYPE of answer.

AtheISM makes a mockery of science.

What? Nature, blind forces and intelligences ARE formulating information today. It is observable and observed. Evolution through selection creates specificity.

Information? What information are you talking about?

Do you want to talk about Fisher information?

Some dudes think Shannon's theory of information breaks down at the quantum level.

Quote:
In 1995, Dr Tim Palmer signalled two unwritten assumptions about Shannon's definition of information that may make it inapplicable as such to quantum mechanics:

* The supposition that there is such a thing as an observable state (for instance the upper face of a die or a coin) before the observation begins

* The fact that knowing this state does not depend on the order in which observations are made (commutativity)
Unquote.

Gorth: Are you or are you not saying that the information stored in DNA is specified, complex, coded, formulated information?

Yes or No.

The honest and honourable answer to the questions of the universe and beginning of life is "we do not know". A "do not know" does not imply your god has created it. Before you say anything else, prove to the world your god exists. Before it is proven, all that follows has no logical foundation. http://atheistbibleforum.blogspot.com/2009/12/does-god-exist.html

I'm quite aware of that. That's why I present evidence showing that an Intelligent Agent cannot be ruled out on philosophical grounds.
