Atheism - The 2 % Solution

What do you think most people do with the evidence that exists regarding Jesus of Nazareth? To date, regarding Jesus:

. Some of the world’s most magnificent architecture has been constructed as an act of worship to Jesus

. Some of the world’s most beautiful art has been created as an act of worship to Jesus

. Some of the world’s greatest music has been written as an act of worship to Jesus

Jesus:
. Because of whom millions of people have survived exile and labour camps

. Because of whom millions of people have willingly given their lives

. Because of whom criminals, drug addicts, the suicidal, the lonely, the poor (and some rich) have found comfort, renewal and emotional / spiritual health while people like Son of Sam serial killer have found miraculous transformations of character.

. Because of whom millions of people turn away from the pursuit of financial gain and give their lives to feed the hungry, clothe the poor, shelter the homeless and abused, support the grieving, parent the orphaned and heal the sick.

. Because of whom all industrialised nations, modern universities and modern science have had their origins

. Because of whom a planet exists within an unimaginably huge and hostile universe that itself owes its existence to this Being.

. Because of whom we have forgiveness of sins, freedom from real guilt and salvation for eternity.

In response to the evidence that is available regarding this Man Jesus, who today is worshipped by over two billion people, this Jesus is someone that atheists claim never existed.

Atheists challenge Christians with “Proof! Give me proof and I’ll believe.” This of course is nonsense. Like Jesus said regarding atheists, “Even when I rise from the dead, many will not believe.” The fact is there is no evidence that would be acceptable to atheists. Their denial of Creator God is not based on evidence nor the lack thereof. The denial that Creator God exists, and by extension Jesus the Christ is based on a desire to rebel against the idea that Someone exists to whom they will one day be accountable for their actions, thoughts and words. “No fucking masters” is becoming the catch phrase for those who deny the reality of their Creator.

If you’ve ever longed to belong to a losing 2% minority who deny reality simply to support their lifestyle, then atheism is a group suited just for you.

What do you think most people do with the evidence that exists regarding Jesus of Nazareth? To date, regarding Jesus:

. Some of the world’s most magnificent architecture has been constructed as an act of worship to Zeus or Aphrodite

. Some of the world’s most beautiful art has been created as an act of worship to Zeus or Aphrodite

. Some of the world’s greatest music has been written as an act of worship to Zeus or Aphrodite

So what do you think most people do with evidence that exists regarding Zeus or Aphrodite?

"If you’ve ever longed to belong to a losing 2% minority who deny reality simply to support their lifestyle, then atheism is a group suited just for you."

I didn't realize this was a competition. According to your definition everyone's loosing to someone. For example,Evangelical Christians are loosing to Catholics and Muslims.

“Even when I rise from the dead, many will not believe.”

Incidentally, that will be the proof Atheists will be more or less willing accept. However, if some guy came to you right now and said that he was Jesus who just rose from the dead would you believe him?

"The fact is there is no evidence that would be acceptable to atheists."

How is that a fact. Pure speculation.

"Their denial of Creator God is not based on evidence nor the lack thereof. The denial that Creator God exists, and by extension Jesus the Christ is based on a desire to rebel against the idea that Someone exists to whom they will one day be accountable for their actions, thoughts and words."

Is that you sole reason for being "good"? Pathetic.

Of course not. He doesn't live here anymore.

Are you suggesting there's evidence that WOULD be acceptable?

"Is that you sole reason for being "good"?"

Not my sole reason. I try to be good for the same reasons that you try to be good, PLUS I want to please the One who provided for my salvation, the One who has forgiven my sins, the One who has freed me from real guilt, the One who loves you enough to die for you so that you too can experience eternity with your Creator.

Sorry, I didn't see this silliness.

"Some of the world’s most beautiful art has been created as an act of worship to Zeus or Aphrodite"

Like what?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greek_Temples

If you are claiming that you had no idea that thousands of temples were built by ancient Greeks and Romans to worship their Gods you're either a fool or a liar.

However, you don't need to go that far back in time to appreciate art these deities inspired. Botticelli painted Birth of Venus. Michelangelo notoriously painted Greek gods and Goddesses (Eros for one). My silliness has no point other than to respond to your silliness.

So you don't believe in the second coming of Christ? And I know about everything that has to happen, but surely god can and may want to change the rules he created.

"Are you suggesting there's evidence that WOULD be acceptable?"

Of course, one of the mass miracles biblical god is so famous for. Such as when god spoke to Hebrew people at NMt. Sinai. I think a mass event like that will certainly be evidence of God's existence that convinced so many Hebrews.

Once again, that you consider that no evidence would convince atheists of God's existence is nothing but speculation fueled by your preconceptions.

The Atheist problem is that there are too many salesman, but they yet have to see the product.

"So you don't believe in the second coming of Christ?"

Jesus was clear about what it will be like the next time He comes. If fact it will be much like the Jews expected the first time around. That of course is why they didn't recognise Him.

"Of course, one of the mass miracles"

So you're tell me that you, an atheist believes in miracles; that you believe in the supernatural? That's a first for me.

I don''t believe in anecdotal accounts of miracles or thousand year old accounts of same. But a mass miracle such as the example I gave today will be hard to attribute to anything natural (more than just one crazy people hearing voices) and will certainly be evidence of God or Gods existence. Like most atheists, I acknowledge possibility of miracles or god, or gods, or even aliens, but possibility of something is not enough to make me run to the nearest church and drop on my knees.

"Jesus was clear about what it will be like the next time He comes. If fact it will be much like the Jews expected the first time around. That of course is why they didn't recognise Him."

Are you telling me that the Omnipotent God can't change it up if he wants to and chock it up to lack of faith if you don't believe him?

Just so you know, despite the the adversarial position that I take, and occasionally snide remarks which is the side effect of my caustic sense of humor, I am not trying to speak out against you personally. If your bio is accurate, I think you are a wonderful person for giving those kids a home and I know that you mean well, probably even for reasons unrelated to your religion.
